Shadow is a care coordination platform for families, owned and operated by Dark Pilot LLC. This policy explains what Shadow collects, why, who it goes to, and what control you have over it. It covers both this website and the Shadow application.
Shadow collects only what it needs to do its job.
Shadow has no cameras, no microphones, and no location tracking. It does not listen, watch, or follow anyone.
We use this information to operate Shadow: to run your household's account, to keep the care record, to send the notifications you have chosen to receive, and to respond when you contact us for support.
We do not use it to build advertising profiles, and we do not make automated decisions about anyone's care. Shadow holds no medical opinions and follows only the schedule a family enters.
Shadow sends text messages only to people who have affirmatively opted in to receive them. Opting in is never a condition of using Shadow, and the checkbox is never pre-selected.
We do not sell, rent, or share mobile numbers or SMS consent with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Consent to receive texts from Shadow applies to Shadow alone and is not transferred to anyone else.
You can stop texts at any time by replying STOP to any message, or by turning the channel off in your Shadow settings. Full details are in the SMS Terms.
Shadow does not sell personal information. We share it only with the service providers that make the product run, and only to the extent they need it:

Each household's record is kept separately from every other household's. Only the people a family adds to its own care team can see that family's record.
Shadow's outgoing emails and texts are deliberately generic. They tell you something needs your attention and ask you to sign in. They do not contain medications, readings, symptoms, or other details of anyone's care — those live behind a sign-in.
The one exception is a nickname in a text message, which appears only if the person receiving the message has chosen it.
We keep a household's record for as long as the household uses Shadow. When a household leaves, it chooses whether to export, archive, or permanently delete the record, and we act on that instruction. Our email provider retains delivery data for 30 days.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal information. Write to us and we will honor them.
Access to a household's record requires an account on that household. Data is encrypted in transit. We limit internal access to what is needed to operate and support the service. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise.
Shadow is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Shadow is a consumer product for families. It is not a medical device, and Dark Pilot LLC is not a healthcare provider or a HIPAA covered entity. Information a family enters into Shadow is not protected health information under HIPAA.
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated in the product.
